I'VE HAD A PASSIONATE LOVE AFFAIR WITH MUSIC my entire life, from Billie Holiday to Broadway show tunes, Chopin to the Beatles, Bing Crosby to Pete Seeger and beyond.

I am an entertainer, singer, musician, songwriter, storyteller, writer, teacher and percussionist. I’ve been entertaining since 1997, singing and accompanying myself on guitar and harmonica with a repertoire of over 800 songs and a willing and grateful heart. My work with Special Needs clients and Alzheimer patients has taught me -- and continues to teach me every day -- that I can always deepen my understanding and appreciation of those with abilities that may be different than my own.

My desire to create and share musical experiences with others has taken me on many career paths that include being a public & commercial radio announcer/DJ, fine arts events coordinator for a community college, associate producer for a music program on public television, concert producer and an adult education music teacher in care facilities for 13 years. All of these experiences have informed my work and led me to where I am today. As a free-lance entertainer and owner of Joy of Music, I take delight in bringing uplifting musical experiences to people in many settings. Among my specialties are interactive and highly participatory performances for elderly folks in care facilities, children and adults with special needs, pre-school and elementary kids, private parties...any event or occasion. I have learned to follow where the music leads me and have performed and led sing-alongs in many diverse settings: summer camps, dementia care units, elementary school classrooms, hospice, houses of worship, assisted living facilities and holiday parties.

I BELIEVE THE POWER OF MUSIC CAN BRIDGE ANY GAP between ages, cultures and opinions; music reveals and affirms what we all have in common. From music we find our power, our love and our joy. It is what connects us to each other and to all that is best in the world.
